Games
We believe gaming and business simulations take business education to the next level.
Enterprise education needs to start as early as possible to produce a cultural shift in how young people think about business. More people are self employed or work for a self employed person than have jobs in the large Fortune 500 companies. We believe gaming engages and educates students to consider the social, environmental and economic benefits of business, and just maybe start their own business one day.
Our simulations are based on sound business practice, and we work with teachers to produce relevant curriculum linked resources to assist delivery in schools.
Our current game
The Small Business Game
Students have to run and manage a sports store, selling a range of retail merchandise to customers over a 52 week period. The store is part of a football (soccer) club (which you can choose). A teacher resource area provides curriculum linked material for teachers to run the game in class.
Aimed at 11-14 year old students with a cross curricula focus including Enterprise, English, Math, Physical Education. www.thesmallbusinessgame.co.nz (New Zealand version)www.sport4life.biz (Scottish version)
Our two past games included:
Championz
This online game is aimed at young entrepreneurs who have a sporting connection. We aim to educate young people about business issues linked to school curriculum. This is achieved by asking the players to build and run a sports team. http://www.championz.co.nz
The winning team is one that can combine sound business decisions with the social and community issues around sport.
The Venture Capital Game
This online game provides players with $2 million in venture capital, which they use to build up their portfolio of companies. They are presented with a range of business opportunities which they need to either invest or divest.
These games have also been run in workshops, and to bank managers and accountants. http://www.vcgame.co.nz
If you require any of these games to be run, contact us. |
